Season start 2025 - Challenge Sir Bani Yas

A look back at a successful start to the season, despite tough competition conditions.

🏊 The swim was bumpy, and the buoy placement caused the field to spread out immediately after the start. I couldn't close the gap to the front and, for better or worse, swam in the last group.

🚴 It got really tough on the bike: wind, blazing sun, and some tough climbs made the route a challenge. I initially rode with a small group, but then decided to pick up the pace, despite my rapidly rising body temperature. Luckily, the risk paid off: I finished second!

🏃 When I transitioned to the run, there were only three bikes in the transition zone, so I had put myself in a good position in fourth place. I quickly found my rhythm and was able to maintain a steady pace all the way to the finish. I expected to be overtaken at any moment, but apparently many of the riders were struggling even more with the heat.

In the end, I finished in 5th place and I'm very happy with that!🤩
